Aeropak’s ESG Journey

At Aeropak, we work purposefully with ESG as an integrated part of our business and everyday operations.
For us, ESG is about creating value for our customers, providing a safe and inclusive workplace for our employees, and taking responsibility for the impact we have on the world around us.

We believe that long-term development is created through a balance between environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and healthy business performance.

A Structured and Data-Driven Approach

A Structured and Data-Driven Approach

Our ESG efforts were formalised with our first ESG strategy in 2023. Since then, we have worked more systematically and data-driven with ESG across the organisation.

As part of this work, we have prepared internal climate accounts covering:

  • Scope 1 (direct emissions from our own operations)
  • Scope 2 (indirect emissions from energy consumption)
  • Selected parts of Scope 3, including production-related purchasing and business travel

In 2025, we also began using the voluntary VSME standards as a framework for our ESG work.

For us, ESG data only becomes valuable when it can support better decisions and lead to concrete improvements in practice.

Environment and Resource Consumption

Aeropak operates under municipal environmental approvals that set requirements for our processes and documentation.

We continuously work to:

  • Optimise the use of energy, water, and materials
  • Reduce waste and production scrap
  • Increase the level of recycling
  • Improve efficiency in our production processes

Our approach is practical and focused on continuous improvement rather than quick fixes.

People and Workplace

We prioritise a safe and healthy working environment and strive to create a workplace where employees have opportunities to develop and take responsibility.

At the same time, we work to maintain responsible and professional relationships throughout our value chain.

Competencies and Tools

To strengthen our ESG efforts, we have invested in both competencies and systems.

This includes:

  • ESG and sustainability training for key employees
  • Building internal competencies within Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
  • Implementation of tools such as Dawn and Ecoinvent

This enables us to work more professionally and data-driven with environmental impact and engage in more qualified dialogue with customers and partners.

ESG in Collaboration with Our Customers

At Aeropak, we see ESG as a shared responsibility throughout the value chain.

Our work with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) allows us to analyse the environmental impact of selected products and actively use this knowledge in dialogue with customers.

This may include:

  • Identifying materials with a lower CO₂ footprint
  • Evaluating alternative solutions with reduced environmental impact
  • Optimising packaging and components
  • Improving resource efficiency in production

Our ambition is to be an active sparring partner and, together with customers and suppliers, develop solutions that both create value and reduce environmental impact.

Collaboration and Development

We actively participate in external initiatives and development programmes that strengthen our work with ESG and circular economy.

These include:

  • More efficient use of resources
  • Increased use of ESG data in collaboration with customers and suppliers
  • Development of solutions with lower environmental impact

The Next Steps

In the coming years, we will continue focusing on:

  • Reducing waste and production scrap
  • More efficient use of resources
  • Increased use of ESG data in collaboration with customers and suppliers
  • Development of solutions with lower environmental impact

We do not believe that one single initiative changes everything.
But we do believe that many small improvements over time can create real change.

ESG as an Ongoing Process

We see ESG as a long-term development process and continuously work to improve our efforts and build new knowledge.

We are not at the finish line - but we are committed to moving forward and strengthening the foundation for the future every day.
